Interpreting service

Effective communication is the basis for a company’s success.
There are situations in which the way words are used is as important as their meaning.

Mondo Lingue provides qualified interpreters who are selected according to their linguistic skills and specific experience in the particular sector for a range of situations including:
  • trade fairs and exhibitions
  • business trips in Italy and abroad
  • meetings and confidential negotiations
  • seminars, conferences, company conventions
  • training courses on running machines and plants
  • high profile events

What kind of service do you require?

We can suggest the most appropriate interpretation method for your specific needs depending on the situation and the formality of the event:

  • liaison interpreting (direct face-to-face): the interpreter relays the message, sentence by sentence, in the target language as required by the Customer. This method of interpretation is suitable for business meetings, company tours and visits to international trade shows.

  • consecutive interpreting: (does not require any equipment) this method is used in formal and informal meetings, directed towards a small number of listeners. In consecutive interpretation, the interpreter takes notes and translates what has been said after the source-language speaker has finished speaking. This procedure requires twice as much time as Simultaneous Interpretation as the speech is given twice, first by the speaker and then by the interpreter.

  • simultaneous interpreting: (requires the use of equipment such as microphones, earphones and soundproofed booths) this type of service is used in formal situations directed to a large audience (conventions, conferences, meetings between customers and agents..). In simultaneous interpretation the interpreter is seated in a sound-proof booth and translates the speaker’s talk in real time from the source language to the target language using earphones and microphones. The members of the audience listen to the translation through earphones. The interpreters generally work in pairs and swap over every 20 minutes or so as the task is very demanding.

  • chuchotage: (whispered interpreting, does not require any equipment) In this type of interpretation the interpreter sits behind the target-language audience and whispers a simultaneous translation of the message. This method is used in  confidential negotiations for a small group of listeners.
